Phyllis Levine, PT, DPT

Phyllis founded Functional Therapy and Rehabilitation, PC with her late husband, Barry, in 2001. She is the president and director of FTR with over 40 years of experience as a physical therapist. She holds her license in the state of Illinois.
Phyllis graduated with a BS in PT in 1970 from St. Louis University. She returned to Rosalind Franklin University to complete her DPT in 2007. Over the years of clinical practice she has attended numerous continuing education classes on a multitude of topics, most in the area of orthopedic PT. She is a credentialed clinical instructor and coordinates the clinical education program at FTR. She has mentored many PT students over her years as a clinical instructor. In addition she is a visiting instructor in the PT programs at Governors State University, Northwestern University, and Rosalind Franklin University. She has presented many topics at state and national meetings and published refereed articles and book chapters. Most of her publications and presentations are on the topic of scoliosis, spine problems and rehabilitation, gait analysis, sport rehab and pulmonary medicine.
Phyllis serves her community as an elected trustee on the Board of Trustees of the local library. She is a member of the Illinois Network of Private Practice Physical Therapists, the Illinois Arthritis Foundation, the Illinois Physical Therapy Association, and the American Physical Therapy Association. She also serves as a clinical consultant to Advisory Board of Governors State University. She is the mother of 3 grown children and actively enjoys many of the cultural aspects of life in Chicago and skiing in the Rockies.
